2025 Announcer ~ Brent Kelly

Brent Kelly is a renowned rodeo announcer, auctioneer, teacher, and businessman whose booming voice has echoed through the arenas of the American West.

A five-time Rocky Mountain Professional Rodeo Association Announcer of the year, he’s affectionately known as the “Voice of the Utah High School State Rodeo Finals”, a role he’s filled for more than three decades.

A lifelong devotee of rodeo, Kelly began his journey competing in bareback riding and calf roping at Brigham Young University.  He redirected his talents behind the mic and found his true calling as an announcer, a career he says he “fell in love with..”

In 2018 he was inducted into the Utah Cowboy Hall of Fame—a recognition of his dedication to the Western Way of Life.  His accomplishments also include announcing for the National High School Rodeo Association Cutting Finals and the prestigious Benny Binion’s Bucking Horse Sale during the National Finals for 20 plus years.  He also is a celebrated auctioneer for over 45 years, served more than 20 years on the Mountain Valley Stampede PRCA as Co Chairman, and played an instrumental role in founding the Heber Valley Horse Sale. He and his wife Mary worked hard in producing the Heber Valley Cowboy Poetry Gathering for over 20 years and was currently awarded by Governor Spencer Cox the “2025 Utah Treasure Award”.

They have raised a rodeo enthusiast family in Midway. Their sons Jason, Van, and Todd have followed in his footsteps, while daughters Nancy and Hayley, and granddaughter McKardy, uphold the rodeo heritage. McKardy even won Utah’s Rodeo Queen title and advanced to national competition.  They enjoy watching their grandchildren compete in Junior High and High School Rodeo Events.

Kelly is excited to be here at the Evanston Cowboy Days PRCA rodeo! So folks, dust off your boots, hold onto your hat, and put your hands together and cheer for your favorite cowboys and cowgirls…..cause it’s rodeo time!
